Privacy policy

The short version
- You don’t need an account. We only get your email address (and name, if you give it) when you write to us, and use it only to reply.
- We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics (no cookies) and Google Analytics, which uses an analytics cookie to tell new visits from repeat ones, except in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, where it sets no cookies. Nothing is used for advertising or to track you across other sites.
- Cloudflare protects the site from bots and may set security cookies to do that. We don’t use ad trackers.
- Our hosting provider processes basic request data (like IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.
- Product photos load from the image servers of the brands (or, for brands whose own sites we can’t read, the retailer we read instead), which see your IP address like any web request.
- Retailers you click through to have their own privacy policies.
- We don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising.
Who we are
Everyday Loadout (everydayloadout.com) is operated by Wilderness Coding LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information is processed when you use the site.
What we collect
Information you give us
The site has no accounts or comments. The only thing you can send us is a message, through the contact form; see Messages you send us.
Information processed automatically
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes technical data for each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver pages, prevent abuse and keep the site secure. We don’t use this data to identify you or build profiles. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Product photos
Product photos are loaded directly from each brand’s image server (for example Shopify’s image CDN), not from our site. Your browser requests them like any other image, so those servers receive technical request data such as your IP address and browser type, under their own privacy policies. We don’t send them anything else.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure page speed. It doesn’t use cookies or local storage, doesn’t fingerprint your device and doesn’t track you across sites. We see only aggregated numbers, such as visits per page, referring sites and countries.
We also use Google Analytics to understand which pages people use and how they find us. A script from Google sends it the page you view, how you got here, and your browser type, device type and approximate location (from your IP address, which Google Analytics doesn’t log or store). Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland it also sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*, kept up to two years) holding a random identifier, so it can count returning visitors. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland we run it in Google’s Consent Mode with all storage turned off: there it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and assigns you no identifier. We see aggregated reports, not individuals. Advertising features, Google signals and ad data sharing are off. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on, a content blocker, or by blocking or deleting cookies; the site works the same.
Bot protection
Cloudflare checks requests for automated abuse. To do this it may run a small script in your browser and set security cookies (such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance). These are strictly necessary to protect the site, aren’t used for advertising, and are covered by Cloudflare’s privacy policy above.
The site also counts how many pages each IP address requests per minute, at Cloudflare’s edge, and briefly refuses requests above a limit no person browsing would reach. The count isn’t stored by us. Requests from mainland China and from AI crawlers other than Anthropic’s Claude are refused.
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from spam bots. It runs only on the contact page, checks signals from your browser (not what you type), and is covered by Cloudflare’s privacy policy. It isn’t used for advertising.
Stored on your device
We set no cookies other than Cloudflare’s strictly necessary security cookies and, outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, the Google Analytics cookies above. Where the law requires consent for analytics cookies we don’t set them, so the site has no cookie banner. The site stores two small values in your browser, and neither ever leaves your device: one in session storage to remember that you closed the preview notice (cleared when you close the tab), and, only if you choose a light or dark theme, your theme choice in local storage (kept until you switch back to “system” or clear site data). Your search and filter choices appear in the page address so you can share or bookmark them; we don’t record them.
Messages you send us
When you use the contact form, we receive what you enter: your email address, the topic, your message, and your name and a page link if you add them, plus the country your request came from (as Cloudflare reports it). The form sends it as an email to our inbox; the site itself doesn’t store it. We use it only to read and answer your message, and to fix the site when you report an error.
We keep messages in our email for as long as we need them to follow up, and delete them on request.
Retailer and affiliate links
Some links to retailers are affiliate links. When you click one, you leave Everyday Loadout, and the retailer or affiliate network may set cookies or collect information under their own privacy policies, for example to credit us with a commission if you buy something. We don’t receive personal information about you from those purchases, only aggregated commission reports.
How we share information
We don’t sell, rent or share personal information for advertising. Data is processed by our hosting provider and by Google Analytics as described above, and we may disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it
We don’t keep visitor data ourselves, apart from messages you send us (see above). Hosting logs, analytics and bot-protection data are kept by Cloudflare under its retention policies. Google Analytics keeps event data for 14 months, after which it is deleted.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to its processing. We don’t collect personal information beyond what’s described above, so unless you’ve written to us there’s usually nothing for us to provide. To ask about or delete a message you sent, contact us. You can clear stored values and cookies at any time in your browser settings; the site works the same without them, apart from remembering your theme.
Children
The site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we add features that process more information, such as accounts or price alerts, we’ll update this page first and change the date above.
